At Kingsland Primary School, we believe that regular attendance is fundamental to every pupil’s success. As a maintained primary school dedicated to inclusivity, high aspirations, and mutual respect, we encourage all parents and carers to support their children in attending school every day. Consistent attendance is key to helping your child achieve their full potential. Missing school can lead to gaps in learning, making it harder for pupils to keep up with their peers. At Kingsland Primary, we work hard to foster an environment where every pupil can thrive and meet their goals, and regular attendance is a vital part of this.

Persistent Absence means a pupil has missed 19 or more school sessions (equivalent to about 10 full school days) in an academic year. Falling into Persistent Absence can seriously impact your child’s progress and wellbeing. We monitor attendance closely and work with families to provide support where needed, always with the aim of ensuring every child benefits from the full educational experience.

If your child is unwell or has a medical appointment during school hours, please provide evidence such as appointment cards, letters, or medical notes. This helps us accurately record attendance and offer any support needed.

Please contact us as early as possible on the first day of absence and keep us updated if the absence continues.
