mr-scarrattHello, I am Phil Scarratt. I was appointed a Governor in 1992 and was Chair for 14 years before standing down in 2015. I started Kingsland as a child in the early 50’s and was here from Reception at age 5 as there was no Nursery at that time. I am proud to be a Governor at the same school I went to as a child, it has always had a great reputation, and my own son also attended. The old school was built in 1935 and I was fortunate to be involved (as Chair) in the planning and total rebuild of the school in 2008. We now have an amazing purpose built school which provides a wonderful learning environment for all our children. I have seen some of our children grow to become parents themselves with their own children now coming to Kingsland. We have a very supportive team of Governors who all have varying strengths to support the school in its aim to provide the best life chances for all our children. Kingsland staff are a great team who ensure a happy caring atmosphere for all with high standards. It is always a pleasure to visit. I really enjoy my role as a governor and try to visit as regularly as possible. I have taken part in many school visits and am a Class Governor for Years 6 and 2.
